What Being a Black Belt Means to Me
Being a black belt means many things to me. Some of those things are being a leader, responsibility, and that I can do anything I set my mind to.
To me, being a black belt means being a leader. Since I have received my black belt, I have been able to help lead my brothers more by setting a good example for them at home and at school. Also, I can be more of a leader at school and at sports. Also, it means I can be a leader in everything I do.
Being a black belt means responsibility to me because I have to look after my little brothers twice as much. It also means to me that I have to keep my grades up. As I have trained for my 2nd degree black belt exam, I have been getting better marks: my lowest grade is a ninety-two, and I have three 100ıs, a ninety-six, a ninety-seven, and a ninety-eight. It also means that I am responsible for practicing my lower belt and upper belt curriculum.
Being a black belt means I can do anything I set my mind to because I used to not think I could even get my black belt, but now Iım testing for my 2nd degree black belt. Also, when I started hockey, I could barely stand up, but now I am able to skate forwards and backwards. I was able to do this because I set my mind to it. By being a black belt, I have learned that I can do anything and everything I set my mind to.
All of the things I have mentioned have helped me become a better person in one way or another. And all of them I have learned at tae kwon do. Even though I no longer live in Virginia, I will carry these lessons with me for the rest of my life.
